Valentine's Disco Ball

Hey, sorry it's been so dead around here! I still do my nails, but haven't been changing it quite as often...or been feeling motivated to post. Anyways, my one year blogiversary was a few days ago...which means my blog has been active for 1 year. Cool beans! I'm probably not going to do anything special though, but just thought I'd document the special occasion.

Glequins (glitter-sequins): Born Pretty Store
So recently, for the first time ever, the Born Pretty Store contacted me to review some of their products. I've never been asked to review anyone's products before, and I was more than happy to, having already been familiar with this store! I chose to review these glequins (in red and pink) since I've always wanted to try what I've seen done on the Nailasaurus blog all the time. These are basically loose hexagonal glitter, that is a little bit larger than the normal glitter you find in most nail polish.

I made hearts using the red glequins and the pink glequins were just some sort of background for it. They kind of reminded me of a Valentine's disco ball, hence the name! Since I didn't want to do every single nail like this, I just did simple French tips on the rest of the nails. I placed each piece on individually using a toothpick and clear polish. Yes it takes a bit of time, but with enough practice it should get easier.

This mani is very blingy and eyecatching. I've never gotten so many compliments on a manicure before! I was over it after 2 days of wearing it but the people around me weren't. I think the main beauty of this (at least to me!) was how smooth it came out despite all the bling. I used 1 coat of Gelous followed by SV and these became gel-like. These are a lot of fun to play with! I really want all of the colors they have now :)

Where to buy
  • A lot of people who saw this have been asking where I got the glitter from so here it is again: I bought it from the Born Pretty Store, and it is item #5 and #7. They have tons of other fun nail art stuff for really cheap there too. You can also use my discount code (PDL91) for 10% off your purchase!

What do you think of my manicure? I'll be doing more with these products, just wait and see...toodles!

  1. Happy blogiversary! Really cute mani. I love anything red and black (unless it's gory and gross, lol).

    1. Haha thanks for noticing! My nails are actually pretty small so it probably doesn't take as long to do a full glitter nail as it does for people with normal sized nails now that I think about it...
