I totally did not plan that title out when I decided to put the two polishes together, it just magically happened! Anyways, I will be posting a full review of all the OPI Liquid Sand polishes I received, but I just quickly wanted to share what was on my nails last week while I was in Oakland.
My favorite Liquid Sand polish by far is OPI Stay The Night which is a black jelly with red glitter and dries with a gritty texture (no topcoat). It's great and reminds me of asphalt with red glitter on the floor! The texture is really not as annoying as people would think, definitely less annoying than caviar and velvet manis. It basically feels like concrete but not as rough that you can scrape yourself on it. I used OPI The One That Got Away for accent nails because I thought it matched the glitter in Stay The Night really well.
One thing to mention is that these pictures were taken AFTER I came back from my conference, so this is what my nails looked like 6 days later (because it was raining when I came back also so I couldn't take pictures until the next day)! There is tip wear of course, but no chipping. This is understandable, since I didn't wash any dishes or anything while I was at my conference. However, I DID handle luggage at the airport so I consider that to have added some strain to the manicure, which it survived. Like a champion. :D
Also one more thing! Obviously these pictures were taken when my nails were completely dry. Therefore they aren't swatch pictures. I found some discrepancies in swatches of these Liquid Sand polishes because when they are swatched, girls don't wait for the polish to COMPLETELY dry before taking pictures. Swatches I've seen so far don't accurately represent the finish of the Liquid Sands. I'm not trying to put any bloggers down, just like to point it out. I didn't realize this myself until I actually wore this polish for almost a week! I decided to re-do my swatches after that discovery.

- OPI Liquid can be found in independent beauty supply stores or Ulta for...not sure because I bought a mini set!
Ohh, the pink you matched this with is too perfect- brings out the red glitter in Stay The Night so awesomely. :D And as you know, I totally agree with you about the necessary dry time to allow it to appear sufficiently matte! These polishes don't lend themselves well to swatches. They have to be worn!
ReplyDeleteYea I thought the 2 were a good match! I wasn't sure if the glitter was red or pink, but The One That Got Away seems to been in the same color family :)
Deletewow, love this nail diy! Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteThanks missy!
DeletePerfect combo! And that wear time is amazing! Especially considering you aren't wearing top coat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kas! I know I was amazed how well this wore without a top coat as well! You'd think it would have the same longevity as matte polishes do, but it's a lot stronger :)
DeleteSix days later!? Awesome. Love the sparkles (and that title!)
ReplyDeleteI know, pretty amazing! Also amazing that I managed to wear the same nail polish for 6 days in a row lol. And thanks! I wish I could take credit for that title...but OPI pretty much made that happen haha
DeleteWow! Those are beautiful! I wish I was that skilled... new follower! :)
